What I know / have heard about this games
From what I can tell, this is one of "The big ones" as far as impact. When people talk about their favorite Final Fantasy games, VII always comes up. Either it is peoples favorites, or they're justifying why it isn't. I am really looking foward to it.
This is the first Final Fantasy game I actually remember seeing / hearing about. I had a friend in Jr High / High School that I saw play some of this, and I remember seeing the iconic poster / cutout of Cloud in a big display in college.
All that being said, I know very little about the plot / setting / gameplay. Which I like. I played the FF7R demo when it was new, but I've not done anything else with it.
I expect this to be very different than the pervious ones, based on what I know going it. And, I expect to have strong feelings one way or the other.
I am playing an emulated Playstation version of this game. I specifically look foward to using the emulators speed up for trivial battles, and save states to drop into / out of the game more quickly, making progress when I have smaller chunks of time.
There is the ever venerable Caves Of Narshe guide that I'll use if/when needed
